Description
Premature ejaculation is uncontrolled ejaculation either before or shortly after sexual penetration. It happens with minimal sexual stimulation and before the person wish.
According to the European Association of Urology (EAU), the aetiology of PE is unknown, with few data to support suggested biological and psychological hypotheses, including anxiety and penile hypersensitivity.
Premature ejaculation may occur with a new partner. It may happen only in certain sexual situations or if it has been a long time since the last ejaculation. Psychological factors such as anxiety, guilt, or depression can also cause it. In some cases, it may be related to a medical cause or a side effect of certain medicines.
Epidemiological surveys in the USA and other countries suggest that PE is the most common male sexual dysfunction, with prevalence rates of 20–30%. The highest prevalence, 31% (among men aged 18–59 years)
